Hurra Torpedo

This video has been making the rounds quite heavily since yesterday, because it’s just THAT good! The Norwegian group Hurra Torpedo made this video sometime in 1993, obviously way ahead of their time.

Watch it now and enjoy their ingenius cover of Total Eclipse of the Heart featuring bad track suits, bushy beards, Animal-esque kitchen-appliance percussion, naked bums and devil-may-care attitude!

A serious classic :O)

And if you just can’t get enough Torpedo, Matt found this image gallery linked from Metafilter.

  1. They used kitchen appliances for percussion?

    In the video you’ll see:

    - Hurra Torpedo and their tribute to Bonnie Tyler’s 1983 hit song, “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, on the T.V. show “Lille Lørdag” (Little Saturday) some SNL-type T.V. show.
    - Cousin-it - Chest freezer, Stove w/ stick

    - Grizzly adams - Lead guitar
    - Danny Donaduce - Stockpot, Over

    - post 70’s style jumpsuits

    - Plumber’s crack

Honestly, if that doesn’t make you want to watch this video, you’re visiting the wrong thread. Words can only tell so much, so you’ll have to watch the video.

  2. Im from Norway, and I’ve seen this band live several times. These men play in several funny bands, all under the label, duplex records.

  3. the band are going on a usa tour in the near future..
-and the”drummer” has done a lot of different stutns on tv the last 10 years, including licking
dip from the amputated stump on a scientists leg, eating soup cooked on his own socks, (whitch he had worn for a week), fish-shakes, drinking a liter of espresso, he lived for a week in his car without going out of it (yes, he did shit in there) and much more.. and check out the videos of him living in a shopwindow for a week, trying to get the worst out of it..and he did http://www.nrk.no/kanal/nrk_p3/forfall/1413830.html
